Bio
Gaël Turine is the author of several monographs, including Le mur et la peur and Aveuglément in the Photo Poche series, Voodoo, Avoir 20 ans à Kaboul and lastly En bas la ville, a book about the city of Port-au-Prince.
His work is exhibited in galleries, museums and festivals. His essays are published in the international press (M Le Monde, The New York Times, Stern, Figaro magazine, L'Espresso, Geo, De Standaard, Newsweek Japan,...). He has been awarded prizes and grants in Europe and the United States.
Gaël Turine teaches Photojournalism at the Université Libre de Bruxelles and leads documentary photography workshops in many countries. In particular, he has coordinated long-term training courses for national photographers in Haiti, Turkey and Senegal.
He is a founding member of MAPS agency, which he has chaired since its creation in 2017.
